The purpose of the Chip English for Beginners Web site is to introduce new employees and ESL students to the vocabulary used in the world of semiconductor manufacturing.  The business of semiconductor processing, also called chip production, uses some unique English words.  The words chip, cleanroom, photo, etch, strip, resist, bunnysuit all have unique meanings to those involved in semiconductor processing.

This self guided course will introduce students to the English words that are commonly used during chip manufacturing.  The students will also be exposed to the basic manufacturing steps used to produce a semiconductor chip.  Links to various Web sites are provided for additional student learning.  This Web site will be updated on a regular basis.
